Delete your account

What CamStream holds about you, and how to have it removed.

Last updated: 7 September 2026

Most of CamStream has nothing to delete. What you film, the credentials that protect your stream and your settings live in the app's private storage on your phone and are never sent to us. The one thing we can hold is an email address, and only if you gave us one.

1. The address, and how it comes to exist

From Info → Support you can send a report and then read the reply. To read a reply the app asks for your email address and sends a six-digit code to it: that address is what proves it is you. There is no password and nothing else to sign up for — but the address is stored so we can write back, and that is what this page is about.

If you have never written to us, or wrote without leaving an address, there is nothing of yours on our side and nothing to delete.

2. Deleting it from the app

From version 2026.9.4 onwards:

  1. Info → Support → Your messages
  2. sign in, if you are not already
  3. Close my account, at the bottom

The confirmation says what goes and what stays, and it does not ask twice.

3. Deleting it by writing to us

Write to [email protected] from the address you want removed. We answer within 30 days, and the deletion is permanent. This route works on any version of the app, and works if you no longer have the app at all.

4. What is deleted, and what is not

Deleted: your email address, the key the app uses to prove it is you, and every link from a report back to you.

Kept: the reports and feature requests themselves, with nothing left in them that points at anybody. A fault is a fault once it has been reported, and what remains cannot be traced back to a person.

Deleted on its own: even if you do nothing, an address that has been silent for five months gets an email saying it will be deleted in a month — opening the app is enough to keep it — and a month later it goes. Nothing is ever deleted without that warning first.

5. Everything on the device

The stream credentials, the encoding settings, your theme and the local debug log are in the app's private storage and nowhere else. Uninstall the app and Android deletes them with it; or, to keep the app and start clean, Settings → Apps → CamStream → Storage → Clear storage. Neither needs us: we cannot delete that data for you because we never had it.

6. Crash reports and usage statistics

Crashlytics and Analytics receive what the privacy policy describes, tied to an identifier Google assigns to the installation rather than to you. To have that deleted too, say so in the same email to [email protected].

7. Your subscription

CamStream Pro is billed by Google, not by us, so it is cancelled where it was bought: Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. Closing your account here does not cancel it, and cancelling it does not close your account.
